Average Joe's 2, IJK 5
Another week, another game with one bad inning that led to a loss. It appeared we were going to rally again late but came up a little short.
Did I mention IJK's catcher is on bunted balls like white on rice?
Offensive highlights include John 'Wheels' S. (changing it, sounds cooler than last week) going 2-2 and runs scored by Old Man Jay and Captain Whitesox. Other than the first inning the gang was really solid on defense. The effort is there and we're clicking as a team but some bad luck is causing our first win to be almost as elusive as Charlie Sheen's sanity.
Average Joe's 1, Hot As Ballz 6
Score a moral victory for the blindingly bright yellow guys! We have officially scored more runs this season than all of last season! Go us!
Unfortunately it didn't lead to a real victory. We're certainly in the right direction as better ball placement would have made this game a little closer. Chris aka Kakman scored the lone run in the first inning and we had baserunners every inning except the 5th. We got quite a few folks on base, with our best chance was in the 4th with Captain Whitesox at the plate. A well placed kick to right wasn't as well placed as he first thought, ending what turned out to be the last chance to score.
Defensive moment of the day goes to Wheels to end the 4th inning, proving that chivalry is not dead. Instead of pegging the Hot As Ballz female as she ran to first, he chose to bolt past her and step on 1st to get the out. Kudos Wheels!
