I'll go with a childhood classic and add my own twist to it... 'If you give a kickball player a few color choices, they're going to wear colors from all over the spectrum'
We really couldn't have asked for better weather to get the first outdoor kickball games of the year going. 60-something, sunny? Yes, please!! Thanks to everyone who showed up for pickup games at Colt Park this weekend. I hope everyone who came out had a good time and found that they hadn't lost their kick over the nasty winter we just had. I know we have so many new players, and it was GREAT to meet so many of you!! I kindasorta wish we'd played a little longer, but it seemed that after the second round of games, everyone was itchin to get to the Sidewalk. Which leads me to the more interesting part of the day...
Welcome back to the Sidewalk! Where the drink specials are better than ever and the flip cup tables are longer than they've been in seasons passed. Oh, and did I mention we have the 'Everything is $7 on this menu for kickball players' menu now? I'd like personally recommend the nachos. They layer the cheese just right. Do try them.
I'd like to introduce our first few flip cuppers of the 2011 season...
Some Kick Nuggets.(?) Can you guys pick a name already!?!? You've changed it 74859148559 times!
For those of you who played last year, this fine gentleman helped us raise some extra money at our fundraiser at On The Rocks Last summer. Ladies, ladies, ladies...aside from his shirt, he's not only good looking, but also a philanthropist. You're welcome in advance.
Some familiar faces....Sidenote: Chad is wearing LAYERS OF BLUE and a dominant beer pong partner! Keep an eye on this star catcher on the field this season. I kid you not, he's faster than he looks, folks.
And all the way from the 203, which after much conversation I agreed isn't actually all THAT far away...Kyle!! Don't worry, if you hear him in Hartford, he's probably starting every other sentence with, 'You know, in New Haven....' We're glad to have you in Hartford, Kyle. Thanks for gracing us with your presence....and double thank you for being so indecisive that you wore beads in EVERY color. It was a great conversation piece and I love the progressive story they came with.
I hope everyone had a great time on Saturday and we look forward to seeing the rest of you soon!!
Mark your calendars now: Wednesday, April 27th for WARMUP WEDNESDAY!!! Details to follow. CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!!
