I think many of us had a thought that Other People's Pitchers might win the division playoffs for the fall Lightning season. Trailing Balls Deep, the regular season division champs and Schrute Farms Beets regular season division runner ups, Other People's Pitchers came in at a surprising ranking. Okay, so maybe 'surprising' isn't the right word. They did, afterall, forfeit the last two games of the season because they didn't have enough players. (Wait, I'm sorry...there is life outside of kickball???) I guess we can say that the kickball experts 'favored' Other People's Pitchers in the division playoffs.
I can, however, safely say that what few people probably expected was for the Oxymorons (formerly the purple team, but now the sweet tie-dye team with the delicious jello-shots) to sail passed Hot Mess Express and Schrute Farms Beets in the first two rounds to make it to the championship game and face off against OPP. I specifically remember walking over to the field, seeing the 'Morons set up on defense and then suddenly realized that they were in the second inning of the final playoff game!!!!!!! Nice work Oxymorons!! I think that, perhaps, a certain OPP captain was a bit nervous through that game, considering the score. I'm sure victor was sweet, but the 'Morons day may have very well been sweeter.
